Vice Consul Tom Chidiac

Vice Consul Thomas Chidiac arrived in Milan in 2020 for his first diplomatic post as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State. Prior to joining the Foreign Service, he worked as a political director and field organizer for Congressman Matt Cartwright, as an economics researcher in the Middle East and North Africa, and as an intern with the State Department’s bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. He also spent a year teaching middle schoolmath as a part of the Teach for America program.

Vice Consul Chidiac has undergraduate degrees in Philosophy/Political Science and Economics from the University of Pittsburgh, and masters degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. During his undergraduate studies, he spent a summer studying at Effat University in Saudi Arabia. While in high school, Vice Consul Chidiac spent a year abroad as an exchange student in Cesena, Italy.

Professor Italo Colantone

Professor Colantone is Associate Professor of Economics at Bocconi University, in Milan. He works in the Department of Social and Political Sciences, and he is a Research Fellow of the BAFFI CAREFIN Research Centre and of CESifo.
He teaches “Economics and Politics of the European Union”, “European Economic Policy”, “Macroeconomics”, “Economics of European Integration”, and “European Policy”. His research focuses on International Trade, Political Economics, and Applied Industrial Organization.
He is the director of the Bocconi Bachelor in International Politics and Government (BIG).
