Civico Liceo Linguistico A. Manzoni warmly invites your school to our 13th International Model United Nations Conference to be held on the 21st March at our premises in Via Deledda 11, and from 22nd to 24th March 2018 at Bocconi University
I started participating in MUN when I was 15 and, since then, MUN never stopped teaching me new things. Over the years, I have attended conferences both in Italy and abroad, such as the ones in Genoa, Barcelona, Athens and Copenhagen, first as a delegate and then as a chair. I understood very soon that every single conference is an incredible and unique opportunity to learn and grow, from a cultural as well as from a personal point of view.
MUN has certainly made me aware of the alarming issues our world is facing, but, at the same time, meeting hardworking and determined young delegates has made me realise that we, the new generations, have the power to tackle these issues and change our world for the better.
I strongly believe that taking part in MUN is one of the most enriching experiences in a student’s life, and for this reason, dear delegates and chairs of MilanMUN2018, I am inviting you all to make the most of this conference, to work hard, speak your mind with confidence and cooperate with one another in a constructive way.
This will be my 9th and, sadly, last conference and it will be the conclusion of a wonderful and memorable journey. Our team is already working to make this conference as rich as possible and we will do our best to ensure a fruitful debate and a stimulating environment where everyone can express himself/herself while having a lot of fun.
I am positive MilanMUN 2018 will be an unforgettable experience for all of us and I am really looking forward to meeting you all in March.
|Dear Milan M.U.N. participants,
my name is Carmen Cojocaru and I am pleased to be the President of the General Assembly of this year’s conference. It is very exciting and inspiring for me to work alongside the organizing team in order to deliver a good quality conference and to create a great experience for you all.
After eleven M.U.N. experiences during high school, this will be “the cherry on the cake”, however I am planning to continue to learn from M.U.N. at university as well. As a result I can say that I am also very happy that Milan M.U.N. will be held at Bocconi university, where I will be studying economics next year.
Among other things, I am very fond of learning languages, getting in touch with new cultures and I am an organization freak.
I really hope you will enjoy the conference and I wish you good luck!
I would also like to remind you to send us some clauses on the topic we will be debating in the General Assembly because it is quite interesting: “radical Islamic threats in states of the Russian Federation”.
I can’t wait to see you in Milan!
|Dear Delegates, Fellow Student Officers, Respectable M.U.N. Advisors and Guests,
My name is Mattia Colombo, the MilanMun 2018 Secretary-General, and it is with great pleasure that I welcome you all to the 13th annual MilanMun Conference.
I am 18 years old and I’m currently attending my last year in Manzoni High School, therefore this, sadly, will be my 9th and final Conference.
In my five years of MUN experience, I have had the opportunity to research, study and debate many issues of global relevance, and, most importantly, to study optionals solutions to said problems.
I have met brilliant people and have had incredible experiences; I have travelled throughout Europe and learned much about diplomacy and about our world.
My greatest wish for this conference is that you will all be given the same opportunities which I have benefited from in these wonderful five years.
Becoming Secretary-General is the realisation of a dream of mine and, as I couldn’t wish for a better Chairing Team, I am sure that I will also realise the second half of my dream, by organising the best M.U.N. conference possible.
I hope that during our conference, you will have the possibility to grow and to become a little more aware of our world’s problems. I hope, too, that you will all have an enlightening debate, and most of all, that you will all have a fun and educational experience.
